Online DVD film rental companies allow a person to rent and buy DVD movies on-line through the mail. Normally, a customer interacts with the DVD rental company via the Internet and recieves the films ordered via regular mail.
DVD film rental companies operate on the following model: A new customer joins the DVD rental service and creates a list of good movies they will like to rent, next the DVD rental company sends movies from the customers list by regular mail, finally the customer receives the films, views them and sends them back and receives another film from list.
The best-known DVD film rental company today is known as BlockBuster.
I am in love with Blockbuster's DVD rental service, Its easy to use, quick and affordable. Another popular Film rental company is Netflix.
The reason i don't use Netflix and won't advice anyone to use its service is because their service is expensive, DVD delivery is slow and they don't provide coupons as often as Blockbuster does.
Another reason i use Blockbuster to rent and buy DVD movies on-line is because they provide free movie and game rental coupons to users each month.
The last reason i love Blockbuster's service is their fast and efficient delivery of DVD rentals, they have an arrangement with USPS that enables Blockbuster to electronically register DVD's refund before they actually arrive their office. This saves time for both Blockbuster and their users benefit from greater turn-around time for their next DVD rental.
If you are looking for an efficient, reliable and affordable Online DVD film rental service, I highly recommend Blockbuster online DVD rental.

Being a consumer that is late to the movie rental by mail game, I certainly don't hold Blockbuster's late appearance against them. Recognizing a huge market that Netflix was the first to tap into, Blockbuster recently launched its own version of rental by mail. My verdict, two huge thumbs up!
To be fair, I have never tried Netflix, but after sampling Blockbuster for just over a month, I see no reason to comparison shop. The premise is that you select your dvd's, put them in a queue and wait for their delivery. Keep them as long as you like, but the more you watch, the more you can get in a month.
The Very, Very Good
Blockbuster is extremely easy to figure out and get around. Picking movies can be done any number of ways, and after you take some time to rate movies, Blockbuster will recommend choices for your queue.
Delivery is fast! I generally get a movie within one to two days of shipping notification. I only had one problem with not receiving a dvd and it turned up the day after I reported it lost, oops!
Availability of top shelf, new dvd's is phenomenal. I recently had the new Harry Potter and Elf dvd's for the Thanksgiving weekend to entertain the kids. I currently have Spiderman 2 on the way. I have never encountered a wait for a new release.
Incentives are pretty good too. When I signed up I got a coupon for a free Shrek 2 dvd, that I printed out and took into a local Blockbuster to obtain. They are currently offering a Bourne Supremacy dvd for new customers so be sure to check.
Free 2 Week trials are available for new customers as well. This is comparable to Netflix from my understanding, but it's a great way to check out the offerings before committing.
Free In-Store Rentals
Every month, in addtion to the rent by mail dvd's I get two free in-store rentals as well. This works great for me, as I can pass those coupons on and let the kids rent video games. These coupons are sent in an e-mail link. Then you merely print them out and furnish them to the store in lieu of payment. You do need to have a local store nearby, and an account there to do this.
The Good
While I am thrilled with Blockbuster overall, the price may be a deterrent to some folks. I currently pay $17.49 for unlimited monthly rentals, with a maximum of three out at a time. Again, this is on par with Netflix, but if you only watch a few dvd's a month, then this may not be for you.
The Not So Good
The only complaint I really have with Blockbuster is minor. They feature a recommendation list based on your rental history and the movies in your queue. Sounds good, but the movies on my recommended list are bizarre. I have never heard of most of them, and almost all of them are children's sing-along videos. I can't imagine how they get this list from my rental history, but really I don't care. I know what I want and I rent it. So as I said earlier, it's not that big of a deal, just a wasted feature I don't use.
How It All Works
The Blockbuster rental process is simple, add movies to your list, then put them in your preferred order, and sit back and wait.
They will notify you via e-mail when a movie has shipped, and also when it is received. Your movie will come in a thin sleeve with a postage return label so that when you're done, you simply need to peel off the adhesive on the envelope and drop it in the mail. This is so thin that it will fit into a standard mailbox slot. I was worried about this as I have the locked mailbox that is pretty narrow.
Pretty simple really. Within a few days of signing up, you'll be enjoying your first movie, enjoy!
All In All
Wow is all I can say. Blockbuster has my ringing endorsement for their outstanding selection, quick shipping, and no waiting for new releases. While I don't know if I'll use this service in the busier, warmer months, I can definitely say that I'll be a happy customer through the kid's winter vacation. Be sure to check them out, and don't forget to look for that incentive if you do.
